Today Damian starred in the annual Meadowbrook 5th grade play based on classical myths, playing the central character in "Orpheus and Eurydice." Speaking in a Southern twang and singing in Country-Western style accompanied by a ukelele, Damian had zinger lines like, "Hades drop kicked through the goal posts of life!"
According to the Meadowbrook newsletter:
The fifth grade performed two classic Greek myths featuring "The Adventures of Odyseus" and "Orpheus and Eurydice". As has become tradition, Grade 5 teacher and playwright, Mr. Lauten, not only wrote the play, but inserted some modern day political humor as well, featuring "appearances" by Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and even Richard Nixon.
